PURELL Hand Sanitizer Helps School Kids Achieve Fewer Sick Days
As any teacher will tell you, the first step to success in school is showing up. Studies show PURELL helps reduce absenteeism due to illness.
When an independent research firm tested the potential of PURELL Instant Hand Sanitizer to reduce the number of sick days, PURELL made the honor roll by reducing absenteeism by nearly 20%1.
The test involved more than 6,000 elementary school kids in five school districts and 16 schools in Delaware, Ohio, Tennessee and California. In half of the schools, PURELL was used by students and staff when entering and exiting classrooms. In the other half, PURELL was unavailable.
The results showed a 19.8 percent reduction in overall absenteeism due to illness for kids attending schools that offered PURELL compared to those who weren’t able to use PURELL. Consider the impact, not only in term of students' success, but also for parents, who don’t have to miss work because they are home with a sick child, making babysitting arrangements or attending doctors’ appointments.
PURELL scores an “A” in helping students avoid sick days.
